The founder, Charles Stephen Markbreiter, himself a home owner, landlord and tenant knows 'both sides of the coin' as an end-user as well as a provider of services. Charles understands the demands of the client as well as the intricacies, specializations and professionalism required to meet those quality standards. He is bilingual, fluent in English and Cantonese.
Charles was born and bred in Hong Kong, the son of a successful English architect father
and Vietnamese publisher mother. He grew up in Sai Kung, when the present town was very much a cosy village and the fisherfolk lived, ate and slept on their fishing boats before going out to sea on several weeks expedition. His hot and sunny summers were spent swimming in the bay, where he picked up starfish from the beach, and playing football with the locals on the sandy football pitch.
He, and his 3 brothers, attended Kowloon Junior School and KGV until at age 13 he went to the English boarding School Dulwich College, situated in the leafy south London suburb oasis. HIs fondest memories include playing hockey and rugby for the school 11's and 15's. This was followed by studies at the now University of East London where he gained a BA (Hons) Degree in Business Studies.
Returning to Hong Kong he set up National Harbour Ltd in 1988 which originated as a trading company exporting sound and lights gift products worldwide.
His interest in home improvements began as a hobby, decorating his own houses and offices and friends' homes with a 'hands-on' approach to supervising attentively the workmen and handworks. This hobby has since developed into a full time profession and with over 10 years renovating experience he now has a 'well-oiled' team of painters, handymen and engineering craftsmen to handle all household or office renovation works as well as provides removals and transportation services.
